We pride ourselves in being an exceptional clinic where you and your family come first. Our family-focused practice works hard to meet the needs of children and adults.  Compassionate, knowledgeable and supportive staff is the cornerstone of Caring Hands Medical Clinics' quality care. Our practitioners and medical staff are highly trained professionals, and maintain current knowledge and skills in pediatrics, family medicine and behavior health to address the special needs of each individual.

Deon

Deontranese T. Taylor, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC

Deon has a caring heart and a giving spirit. She is compassionate about the medical field and loves to care for children. Deon was raised in Monticello and graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1996. She feels very fortunate to live and work in her hometown and is dedicated to improving the health and well being of everyone. 

Deon received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Copiah Lincoln Community College in 2002, her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Alcorn State University in 2011, her Master of Science Degree in Family Nurse Practitioner from The University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2012, her Post Master's Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Walden University in 2023 and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Grand Canyon University in 2023. She maintains her board certifications from American Association of Nurse Practitioners   (AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).   Deon is also professionally certified in BOTOX Cosmetics | DYSPORT | Dermal Fillers | Dermal Filler w/Platelet Rich Plasma | Microneedling w/Platelet Rich Plasma | Laser and Intense Pulsed Light | PDO threads| Kybella Injections| Sclerotherapy| Non-Surgical Hair Restoration| Cellulite and Fat Reduction | Hormone Replacement Therapy | Weight Loss Management. 

Deon began her nursing career at the University Mississippi Medical Center in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). She has always sought opportunities to expand her knowledge in healthcare and to remain versatile in the field of nursing. Since the days in the NICU, she has had many job opportunities that have afforded her the opportunity to care for clients of all ages and in numerous outpatient and inpatient settings. Her healthcare experience includes many years as a Registered Nurse in neonatal intensive care, pediatric care, well baby nursery, surgery, critical care, long term care, mental health and hospice care. She has worked in pediatric primary care practice with patients from birth to 21 years of age since becoming a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and pediatric primary care is now her passion.

She enjoys working with patients who are ready and willing to take an active role in their health care, especially in terms of disease prevention. Her passion for her patients and her community prompted her to become a healthcare entrepreneur. She and her husband Keith founded Caring Hands Children’s Clinic, LLC, Caring Hands Children’s Clinic II, LLC, Caring Hands Family Practice, LLC, Caring Hands Behavioral Health and Wellness, LLC and CH Med Spa, LLC.   All clinics provide primary care and encourage patients to take an active role in their health, especially in terms of disease prevention. Deon and her husband embrace the core values of integrity, innovation, and growth. Deon received the entrepreneur of the year award from the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce in 2019. She works collaboratively with physician specialists and primary care physicians.

When not at the clinic, Deon enjoys online shopping, traveling, interior designs, crafts and spending time with her husband Keith Sr., four sons; Daquori, Keith Jr., Kobe, and Kaleb,  daughter Kyuna, son-in-law Deon and granddaughter Kia.


Molly Mayhugh, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Molly is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.  She was raised in Monticello and currently lives in New Hebron with her husband and three children.  Molly graduated from Lawrence County High School, class of 2009, where  she graduated with high honors.  After high school, Molly attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg where she obtained a bachelor's degree in Nursing.  After graduating from nursing school, she worked a total of 4 years in the NICU at River Oaks and UMMC.

Molly received her Masters Degree in Nursing Practice in May of 2018.  She has served as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Simpson County over the last 3 years.  Her experience has been caring for individuals across the lifespan from birth to geriatrics.  Molly is also professionally certified in BOTOX Cosmetics | DYSPORT | Dermal Fillers | Dermal Filler w/Platelet Rich Plasma | Microneedling w/Platelet Rich Plasma | Laser and Intense Pulsed Light | PDO threads| Kybella Injections| Sclerotherapy| Non-Surgical Hair Restoration| Cellulite and Fat Reduction.  

Molly is very excited to return to Lawrence County to pursue Pediatric Primary Care at Caring Hands Children’s Clinic.  She has an outgoing, loving personality and is excited to return to her hometown to provide pediatric care to the community. 


Mitzi Ferguson, MD

Dr. Mitzi Ferguson has dedicated her life to pursuing excellence in medicine. Dr. Ferguson is Board-certified in both Neonatal Medicine and Pediatric Medicine. She finished her Pediatric Medicine residency and her Neonatology fellowship at the University of Mississippi in Jackson, MS. During her reputable medical career, Dr. Ferguson worked at Woman's Hospital in Jackson and is known as a dedicated, caring and phenomenal physician. Her meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence led her to want to learn more about cosmetic medical procedures and pursue a career in Aesthetic Medicine.

Dr. Ferguson has established herself as a leader in the field of Aesthetic Medicine in Jackson and beyond. Her pursuit of knowledge lead her to study in London and all across the United States. With countless hours and endless research, she has an overwhelming understanding of the facial structure and causes of distresses of the facial system. This knowledge coupled with her deep desire to comprehend each person’s needs, make her a leading Medical Aesthetics professional in Mississippi.

Dr. Ferguson is a visionary in advanced age-reversing techniques and wellness. Practicing for over 40 years, she is specialized in the field of aesthetic medicine and has developed strongly held beliefs about how this care should be delivered. Dr. Ferguson's ethics, expertise, natural approach to aesthetics and focus on patient education comprises the distinctive foundation that sets her apart from other providers.

She believes “prevention is paramount” when it comes to aging gracefully and that real results are achieved gradually in a subtle and transformative manner. Her assessment and treatment plans are comprehensive, realistic, measured and based in science. Although formulas for “beauty” in medical aesthetics can be helpful, Dr. Ferguson’s artistry is not something that can be taught. She provides her patients with the perfect blend of science and art, yielding an unsurpassed confidence in her treatments. Dr. Ferguson currently resides in Natchez with her husband Jake Middleton. They have 4 children Evan, Kerry, Leslie, and Wes, and 6 beautiful grandchildren Ella, Lucy, Jake, Adele, Dot and Teddy.  She currently practices at Timeless Medical Aesthetics in Natchez and Jackson and serves as Medical Director for Caring Hands (CH) Medspa.

Constance Bradford MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Constance practices as a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in the medical field. Currently, she resides in Monticello, MS with her husband, Alex Bradford of 22 years, and 5 children; Jalyn, Jeremiah, Madison, Kennedy, and Lauren. In, 2004, she graduated from Central Texas College with her Associate Degree in Nursing. In 2011, she obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Alcorn State University. In 2014, she graduated with Highest Honors with her Master's of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner field from Alcorn State University. She is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She advocates for her patients and community by providing them with the highest quality of care. She treats them as she would any member of her family. She puts God first in all that she does and desires to build a healthier, happier community.



Jennifer Meilstrup, MSN, APRN, CPNP-PC

Jenni is a board certified Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She received her Associate Degree of Nursing from Southwest Mississippi Community College. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing Primary Care Pediatrics from University of South Alabama where she graduated with honors. She is certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner through Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.

Jenni has spent her career dedicated to the pediatric population. She has worked in the Pediatric Emergency Room at UMMC and the nursery at River Oaks Baby Suites. She spent 16 years at KDMC in the Newborn and NICU nurseries. She spent 5 years at McComb Children's Clinic.  For the past 3 years, she has served children and their families in Meadville.

Jenni was born and raised in Brookhaven. She and her husband have 2 girls, 2 boys, a wonderful son-in-law, and two beautiful granddaughters. She enjoys gymnastics, cheerleading, and her favorite sport baseball.

With an enthusiastic spirit, Jenni is passionate about caring for children. She listens to parents and works closely with them to provide the best care for their child.



Kelly Hoskins, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC

Kelly is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of healthcare experience. She was raised in Monticello and still resides with her husband of 21 years, Shayne Hoskins, and three children, Tristan, Lexie, and Trevor. She is a 1997 honors graduate of Lawrence County High School

Kelly established her career in the medical field in 2000. Following graduation from Copiah-Lincoln Community College as a Radiologic Technologist, she worked at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital in Hazlehurst for 6 years.  Desiring to care for her hometown community of Monticello and its people, she started employment at Lawrence County Hospital in 2006. She loved being an x-ray technologist, however she desired a deeper, more personal relationship with her patients. While continuing to work full time she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Southwest Mississippi Community College in 2008. After many years of working as a nurse in a variety of settings, she went on to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2020 and Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2023 both from Western Governors University. 

Kelly’s nursing career began in 2008 at Lawrence County Hospital. She then moved on to continue caringfor patients in their homes with St. Luke Home Health for the next seven years. She returned to work at Lawrence County Hospital in 2016 on the medical floor and in the emergency department. 

Kelly is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is known for her love and deep concern for all ages of patients as well as her wealth of knowledge. She looks forward to providing dedicated and compassionate care for her community while providing the highest quality care to help build a healthier community.

Blaine C. Britt, MD

Dr. Blaine Britt is a very compassionate and loving person.  He has a passion for helping others.  He is well known by his colleagues for his gentleness, his ability to put both his patients and their parents at ease, and his tireless dedication to promoting good health and improving the quality of life and wellbeing of his patients.

Dr. Britt is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.  Dr. Britt earned his Medical Degree from the University of Mississippi.  He completed his internship and residency at the University of South Alabama. He currently resides in Brookhaven with his wife Amber, and their five children. He currently practices at KDMC Family Practice Clinic in Brookhaven MS and serves as collaborating physician for Caring Hands Children's Clinic and Caring Hands Family Practice.



Amanda D. Ward, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Amanda is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Amanda has been a registered nurse since 2008, developing excellent patient care abilities. She resides in Meadville, MS, with her husband, Ty, and their two children. In 2015, Amanda realized her true passion after her son was diagnosed with autism—promoting early childhood intervention and assisting children in reaching their full potential. Understanding personally the difference that is made by receiving the appropriate care and support for a child, Amanda pursued a career providing specialized care in an area of need.

Amanda graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center with honors in 2022. After graduation, she was accepted into the Child Health and Development Promotion program at UMMC, where she specialized in providing developmental-behavioral evaluations and care to young children with autism, developmental delays, behavioral problems, trauma, and other mental health needs.

Tomekia Y. Luckett, PhD , APRN, PMHNP-BC

As one of the world’s rising empowerment speakers, Tomekia Luckett is a dynamic personality and highly sought-after resource in professional, educational, and faith-based circles. Tomekia has helped others to find hope and strength in Jesus Christ. She is a nurse, nurse educator, author, and mother of triplet sons, yes you read it correctly! Tomekia has perfected the art of achievement both personally and professionally. She inspires and empowers others to go for their dreams through tenacity, excellence, and an unrelenting commitment to success. 

 Tomekia is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She was born in Gary, Indiana, and relocated to McComb, MS during childhood. She currently resides in Summit, MS with her triplet sons. Tomekia graduated from McComb High School, class of 1996. After high school, Tomekia attended Southwest Mississippi Community College where she obtained an Associate of Arts in Biology as a pre-med major. She received an Associate of Science in Nursing from Southwest MS Community College in 2001. Tomekia holds an BSN and MSN from William Carey University. Tomekia earned a PhD from the University of Southern Mississippi with a focus in nursing leadership and a Post Master’s Certificate with a focus on Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. Tomekia’s MSN and BSN are from William Carey University. 

Tomekia began her nursing career at the University of MS Medical Center, Jackson, MS in 2001, as a medical surgical nurse. She has evolved in nursing and worked in a number of settings/specialty areas to include geriatric nursing, pediatric nursing, home health nursing, psychiatric nursing, oncology, and post-operative areas. Tomekia brings a wealth of nursing experience to include 14 years’ experience as a nurse educator. Tomekia is an active member of the Mississippi Nurses Association (MNA) and has held a number of high-profile leadership positions within the Mississippi Nurses’ Association. She served as the Director for the Council on Nursing Education 2017-2021, District 7 Executive Board 2013-2015, and Council on Nursing Research Committee, member at large 2012-2013. Additionally, she was elected to serve as a Delegate, 2023 for the American Nurses Association Membership Assembly. Tomekia is also a member of the Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners (MANP). 

 Tomekia is an author who has written several books, including devotionals for nurses and nursing students. Her heartfelt, passionate, and invigorating approach to life empowers patients to step beyond their limitations and become active participants in their health. Tomekia is passionate about wellness and loves educating patients and communities on disease prevention.


Rebecca Pugh, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Rebecca is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 15 years of healthcare experience. She resides in Sumrall, MS with her husband and three children. Rebecca has a passion to bring better mental health care access to rural communities in south Mississippi. Although raised in Atlanta, GA until she was a teenager and living in several different states throughout her adult life, south Mississippi has always been the home in her heart. Providing care and being able to give back to her community in such a way that enriches lives and empowers others fulfills the desire of her heart. Rebecca provides care to individuals across the lifespan ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations. She has a caring heart, a generous spirit, an accepting personality, an empathetic soul, and a non-judgmental approach to every interaction with others.

Rebecca’s interest in the mental health field began in the early 2000s with her first healthcare job as a clinical assistant at Pine Grove Behavioral Health in the inpatient drug and alcohol unit. She carried that interest with her when she moved to Oceanside, California where she worked as an office manager for an outpatient behavioral health clinic and assisted in conducting pharmaceutical clinical drug trials for patients diagnosed with schizophrenia. Although she has worked in several different fields of medicine over the years, she has always felt the pull to return to mental health care.

Rebecca graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Southern Mississippi and became a Registered Nurse (RN) in 2012. She went on to obtain her Master of Nursing (MSN) degree from the University of South Alabama where she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society of Nursing in 2023. Her PMHNP board certification is through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Rebecca’s goal is to play an active role in reducing the stigma of mental illness by advocating for the understanding and acceptance that mental illness diagnoses are just as important to treat as medical illness diagnoses. She is a strong patient advocate and appreciates patients who take an active role in their care. Rebecca believes in a holistic approach to patient care. She believes that the patient knows their mind and body the best and treatment plans should be based on an understanding and agreement between the provider and the patient.


John David Richardson, MD

Dr. Richardson is board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Mississippi. He completed his internship and residency at Baylor University Medical Center.

Dr. Richardson specializes in diagnosing and treating mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety disorders, victims of abuse, eating disorders and substance abuse. He currently practices at KDMC Behavioral Wellness Center in Brookhaven MS and serves as collaborating physician for Caring Hands Behavioral Health and Wellness.




Dr. Maxie Gordon, MD, Psychiatry Specialist

Dr. Gordon is an experience psychiatrist who has been practicing in Mississippi and the Southeast since 1996.
A graduate of Meharry Medical College, Dr. Gordon completed his undergraduate education at Belhaven University and completed graduate school at Jackson State University. In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Gordon has led CME and conducted research. Dr. Gordon has extensive experience in Personality Disorders and Psychotic Disorders. He believes in using his knowledge and expertise to help others and improve life in his community. He currently practices at Gordon Medical Arts in Clinton MS and serves as collaborating physician for Caring Hands Behavioral Health and Wellness.
