Deontranese T. Taylor, DNP, FNP-C
Deon has a caring heart and a giving spirit. She is compassionate about the medical field and loves to care for children. Deon was raised in Monticello and graduated from Lawrence County High School. She feels very fortunate to live and work in her hometown and is dedicated to improving the health and well being of all children.
Deon received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Copiah Lincoln Community College, her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Alcorn State University, her Master of Science Degree in Family Nurse Practitioner from The University of Alabama at Birmingham and her Doctor of Nursing Practice fromGrand Canyon University. She maintains her board certification from AANP (American Association of Nurse Practitioners) as a FNP.
Deon began her nursing career at the University Mississippi Medical Center in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). She has always sought opportunities to expand her knowledge in healthcare and to remain versatile in the field of nursing. Since the days in the NICU, she has had many job opportunities that have afforded her the opportunity to care for clients of all ages and in numerous outpatient and inpatient settings. Her healthcare experience includes many years as a Registered Nurse in neonatal intensive care, pediatric care, well baby nursery, surgery, critical care, long term care, and hospice care. She has worked in pediatric primary care practice with patients from birth to 21 years of age since becoming a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and pediatric primary care is now her passion.
She enjoys working with children and parents who are ready and willing to take an active role in their children’s health care, especially in terms of disease prevention. Her passion for her patients and her community prompted her to become a healthcare entrepreneur. She and her husband Keith founded Caring Hands Children’s Clinic, LLC, Caring Hands Children’s Clinic II, LLC, Caring Hands Family Practice, LLC and Caring Hands Behavioral Health and Wellness, LLC. All four clinics provide primary care and encourage patients to take an active role in their health, especially in terms of disease prevention. Deon and her husband embrace the core values of integrity, innovation, and growth. Deon received the entrepreneur of the year award from the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce in 2019. She works collaboratively with physician specialists and primary care physicians.
When not at the clinic, Deon enjoys online shopping, traveling, interior designs, crafts and spending time with her husband Keith, four sons, daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter.
Molly Mayhugh, MSN, FNP-C
Molly is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She was raised in Monticello and
currently lives in New Hebron with her husband and three children. Molly
graduated from Lawrence County High School, class of 2009, where she
graduated with high honors. After high school, Molly attended theUniversity of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg where she obtained a
bachelors degree in Nursing. After graduating from nursing school, she
worked a total of 4 years in the NICU at River Oaks and UMMC.
Molly received her Masters Degree in Nursing Practice in May of 2018. She has served as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Simpson County over the last 3 years. Her experience has been caring for individuals across the lifespan from birth to geriatrics. She is very excited to return to Lawrence County to pursue Pediatric Primary Care at Caring Hands Children’s Clinic. Molly has an outgoing, loving personality and is excited to return to her hometown to provide pediatric care to the community.
Constance Bradford MSN, FNP-C
Constance practices as a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 16 years of experience in the medical field. Currently, she resides in Monticello, MS with her husband, Alex Bradford of 20 years, and 5 children; Jalyn, Jeremiah, Madison, Kennedy, and Lauren. In, 2004, she graduated from Central Texas College with her Associate Degree in Nursing. In 2011, she obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Alcorn State University. In 2014, she graduated with Highest Honors with her Master's of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner field from Alcorn State University. She is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She advocates for her patients and community by providing them with the highest quality of care. She treats them as she would any member of her family. She puts God first in all that she does and desires to build a healthier, happier community.
Jennifer Meilstrup, MSN, CPNP-PC
Jenni is a board certified Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She received her Associate Degree of Nursing from Southwest Mississippi Community College. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing Primary Care Pediatrics from University of South Alabama where she graduated with honors. She is certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner through Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
Jenni has spent her career dedicated to the pediatric population. She has worked in the Pediatric Emergency Room at UMMC and the nursery at River Oaks Baby Suites. She spent 16 years at KDMC in the Newborn and NICU nurseries. For the past 5 years, she has served children and their families in McComb.
Jenni was born and raised in Brookhaven. She and her husband have 2 girls, 2 boys, and a wonderful son-in-law. She enjoys gymnastics, cheerleading, and her favorite sport baseball.
With an enthusiastic spirit, Jenni is passionate about caring for children. She listens to parents and works closely with them to provide the best care for their child.
Blaine C. Britt, MD
Dr. Blaine Britt is a very compassionate and loving person. He has a passion for helping others. He is well known by his colleagues for his gentleness, his ability to put both his patients and their parents at ease, and his tireless dedication to promoting good health and improving the quality of life and wellbeing of his patients.
Dr. Britt is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Dr. Britt earned his Medical Degree from the University of Mississippi. He completed his internship and residency at the University of South Alabama. He currently resides in Brookhaven with his wife Amber, and their five children. He currently practices at KDMC Family Practice Clinic in Brookhaven MS and serves as collaborating physician for Caring Hands.
Amanda D. Ward, PMHNP-BC
Amanda is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Amanda has been a registered nurse since 2008, developing excellent patient care abilities. She resides in Meadville, MS, with her husband, Ty, and their two children. In 2015, Amanda realized her true passion after her son was diagnosed with autism—promoting early childhood intervention and assisting children in reaching their full potential. Understanding personally the difference that is made by receiving the appropriate care and support for a child, Amanda pursued a career providing specialized care in an area of need.
Amanda graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center with honors in 2022. After graduation, she was accepted into the Child Health and Development Promotion program at UMMC, where she specialized in providing developmental-behavioral evaluations and care to young children with autism, developmental delays, behavioral problems, trauma, and other mental health needs.
Services offered at the clinic will include the evaluation and management of:

Christa Jones, MSN, PMHNP-BC
Christa graduated from University of Mississippi Medical Center with her Master’s Degree in Nursing with a focus as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has the expertise and knowledge to practice as an advanced practice health provider. She has over 5+ years of experience working as a provider assessing, evaluating and treating patients with mental health issues ranging from mental illness, trauma, substance abuse, etc.
Her passion has always been to help others and she has worked in mental health for over 25+ years as a Registered Nurse. She treats all ages of the life span and has experience treating inpatient and outpatient. Empathy, respect, communication, patience, and professionalism are skills that drive her passion in her service. She makes each patient feel worthy of being treated by establishing a trusting environment and good rapport. Providing a high level of care to patients' mental and emotional needs guides her plan of care in collaboration with other health care professionals.
She believes everyone deserves to be treated equally and fairly and hopes to continually break barriers in mental health. She has 4 children and has been married almost 25 years.
John David Richardson, MD
Dr. Richardson is board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Mississippi. He completed his internship and residency at Baylor University Medical Center.
Dr. Richardson specializes in diagnosing and treating mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety disorders, victims of abuse, eating disorders and substance abuse. He currently practices at KDMC Behavioral Wellness Center in Brookhaven MS and serves as collaborating physician for Caring Hands.
Tonya Rushing, MSN, FNP-C
Tonya began her nursing career in 1999; where she received her BSN in nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She has worked in several different areas of specialty throughout her nursing career for almost 20 years prior to continuing her education as a nurse practitioner. During her career as a RN, she was a certified trauma nurse which lead to her sharing her knowledge of this area of specialty by teaching numerous trauma and emergency nursing courses for new nurses entering the field of trauma nursing. She graduated from Alcorn State University in 2019 with a Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is a member of various nursing organizations as well. Tonya graduated with honors from both the University of Mississippi and Alcorn State University.
Tonya was chosen by theMississippi Board of Nursing as a graduate scholar and made the Dean’s list while receiving her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Alcorn State University. Tonya attended extensive training while becoming a nurse practitioner; which including specialized training from the GTI lab for family nurse practitioners. Tonya’s publications include, “Implementation of a Total Knee Arthroplasty Evidence Based Practice Guideline Quality Improvement Project”. Tonya grew up in a small town of Morton, MS; where she was a classmate to the famous Ole Miss and New Orleans Saints running back; Deuce McAllister. Tonya is passionate about football and encouraging others to pursue a career in nursing or any health related field to help people during their time of need in life. She resides in Brookhaven, MS now; with her husband of 25 years and their two children. Tonya’s son is attending UMMC School of Nursing as well to follow in mom’s footsteps.
Tonya’s daughter is a Junior at Brookhaven Academy; and thinks she would like to pursue a career in law at the University of Mississippi. She is a member of First Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MS. Tonya’s utilizes her experience and training to provide quality care to her patients on a daily basis. Tonya looks forward to serving Monticello and the surrounding areas with her team at Caring Hands.
